Our history

The sea as heritage, passion as horizon Since 2013, Laëtitia and Alexandre Navarre have been writing a story that combines Norman excellence with international ambition. A family business founded in Gouville-sur-Mer, Navarre distributes lobsters, oysters, shellfish and crustaceans that have become gastronomic icons.

A visionary couple

Two paths, one ambition: to enhance the sea

From the age of 20, Alexandre, a marine biologist, gained experience working in oyster farms and on boat decks. Laëtitia, who comes from the world of aesthetics, gave Navarre its visual and commercial identity. Together, they combine French savoir-vivre, taste and creativity to celebrate the nobility of seafood.

The Sea School: Jersey

A vibrant laboratory, where Navarre’s DNA was forged

Before Navarre, there was Jersey. Between 2007 and 2012, Alexandre managed 25 hectares of oyster beds there and one of his future specialities: pot fishing. This life-size school of the sea laid the foundations for Navarre. It was here that their DNA as producers and fishermen, deeply attached to the land, emerged.

A family and human adventure

From modest beginnings, driven by the energy of a family

In 2012, the couple purchased an abalone farm in Gouville-sur-Mer. With the help of their family and friends, Laëtitia and Alexandre renovated the premises and, in less than a year, created Navarre’s flagship vessel. April 2013 marked the birth of the Navarre maritime domain, specialising in production and marketing.

Sea fisherman

From blue lobster to exceptional oysters

From artisanal fishing to iconic collections

The history of Navarre was initially built around blue lobster, the king of the Normandy seas. The venture quickly expanded to include oysters, offering a complete range of products.

  • 2013 to 2016: blue lobster becomes Navarre’s signature dish.
  • 2017: installation of oyster farms in Gouville (2 hectares initially, now 5 hectares).
  • Creation of the oysters Gamèn’, Antilope 1858, Henri IV, Fine de Normandie.
  • Extension to scallops, crabs, lobsters, spider crabs.
